VSCU – Osmon Field House
The project design and stabilization procedures for Osmon Field House Glulam repairs began in July 2009 and the stabilized roof structure was completed by Jan 1, 2010, in time for the university-sponsored holiday basketball tournament. The fifty-year old field house had been closed for any type of use due to the potential collapse of the dome roof. As a result the use of the adjoining locker facilities were unusable therefore requiring the university to lease portable units to accommodate the needs of the adjacent football stadium. We engaged glulam forensic experts from WJE of Chicago to assist with the design methodology for stabilization. The primary need of this project was to get the building fully operational as soon as possible so that the university would be able to use it once again.
