First United Methodist Church Masterplan

In an effort to boost the church’s membership and strengthen its historic downtown presence the Masterplan was one of several steps undertaken by the church’s leadership.

The design focus was to improve the church’s visibility, enhance existing space use, and improve the Church’s ability to respond to the growing needs for fellowship and contemporary worship.

Deferred maintenance issues like mechanical, electrical, and fire suppression systems, stained glass windows, roof, and masonry restoration, Nave (worship space), and the pipe organ, were all identified. The Masterplan meets the church’s space needs, enhances its visibility from 10th Street and compliments the 1893 historic church. The estimated construction cost of the entire project is $7,274,180.
