Coughlin Campanile Restoration

Coughlin Campanile is a South Dakota State University icon and historic landmark. Built in 1929, it is the largest chimes tower in South Dakota and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Unfortunately, significant limestone degradation occurred since its construction. To fix this, the limestone base was restored using matching stone replacement pieces as required and stone patching. Additional restoration included brick masonry, steel balcony railings, steel windows and doors, glass lantern lighting and interior structural steel components.
